| Project Title: | Molecular Characterization of Circadian Clock Associated Transcription Factors in Rice |
| Abstract of Project : | |
| In higher plants, circadian rhythms regulate various biological processes including metabolism. Molecular mechanisms regulating circadian clock genes have been reported in Arabidopsis thaliana but very little information is available for monocots especially rice. Circadian clock associated transcription factors such as CCA1, TOC1, MYB genes will be characterized by employing molecular biology techniques in rice. The present study attempts to introduce circadian clock genes in rice via genetic transformation and analyze transgenic plants for obtaining "hybrid vigor" without hybrid seed production. | |
